Auditions for the Nashoba Players October - November 2025 production of Connected will be held at the Parish Center for the Arts, 10 Lincoln Street, Westford, MA, on:
Tuesday, July 1, 6:00-10:00 PM
Wednesday, July 2, 6:00-9:00 PM

Callbacks, if necessary, will be held by invitation on Wednesday, July 2, beginning at 9:00 PM.
Actors will be seen in groups of up to 10, please use our signup form. Note that after you fill out this form you will receive an email with instructions about how to upload your headshot and resume.
Within an appointment slot, your audition will consist of:
Singing a prepared song excerpt from the show, chosen from those listed here. Accompaniment as in the backing track will be provided.
Reading a prepared scene from the show, chosen from those listed here. This is applicable only if you are interested in a speaking role.
A brief group dance call; please dress accordingly.

Rehearsals / Important Dates:
Rehearsals: Sunday afternoons, and Monday and Wednesday evenings, beginning in early July, and chosen to accomodate your summer schedule. Rehearsals will be more regular starting in September.
Tech week begins on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
There will be four performances in October-November 2025:

(We are skipping Halloween to give you opportunities to celebrate in your own way!)
Please note that conflicts are not permitted on performance dates, nor for tech week.
All roles are open to performers of any ethnicity. Anyone age 9 and older is welcome to audition. Roles of transgender and nonbinary characters will be played by transgender and nonbinary actors when possible. The ensemble is open to anyone of any age or gender.
ADULTS
Abby Robbins: 40s, Approaches conversations within her family (husband Jeremy, children Liz and Chase) from the meek perspective of an abused partner. When she finds her inner strength, she always presents as the hard-working skating coach who ultimately escapes her abuser; soprano. G#3 to G5
Jeremy Robbins: 40s, the self-centered, impulsive father of Liz and Chase, with priorities out of whack. Vocal part is transposable to tenor or bass. C3 to F4
Helen Corelli: 50s, the type-A, irritating stage mom of a transgender boy, mezzo soprano. G3 to E5
Matthew Foster*: 40s, Abby's best friend and Brooke's father, outgoing and accepting, with boundary issues. Patter role. (This role will be tailor made to fit your voice, as it was originally written to be an alto role).
Megan Foster*: 40s, Abby's best friend, a bold, accepting music teacher with good advice and a few boundary issues. Mezzo patter role. F3 to G5 *Please note: Abby's best friend can be male or nonbinary, Matthew Foster, with the same description. Tenor/baritone role to be tailor made for the performer.
Veronica: 30s, a well-intentioned friend of Jeremy’s, short singing solo. G3 to E4
Julie: 20-40, a well-intentioned friend of Jeremy’s, party girl. Short singing solo (alto).
Future Gabriel: a 20-25-year-old trans man who visits Gabriel to give him advice about the future. Appears in others scenes as a therapist, and in Helen's dreams to signify her eventual acceptance of her son. Tenor. E♭3 to F4
TEENS
Please note: the ages for teens are approximate, and are intended to show the relative ages of the characters. More specifically, Gabriel, Liz, and Brooke should appear to be about the same age, while Chase and Jason should appear younger, and Derek should read about the same age as or a little older. Young adults who are out of their teens but can convincingly portray teenagers may definitely audition for these roles.
Gabriel Corelli: 14-16, a transgender male ice skater who works hard to please other people, appearing to the audience at first as a girl. Vocal part is transposable to alto or tenor. F3 to C5
Liz Robbins: 15, a depressed, confused, high school student whose parents Abby and Jeremy are getting divorced; alto. A3 to C5
Chase Robbins: 11, the funny, neurospicy, savvy younger child of Jeremy and Abby, soprano. C4 to F5
Brooke Foster: 15, a privileged, open-hearted high school student who feels deeply; soprano. A3 to F#5
Derek Johnson: 18, the kind, patient, gay skating partner to Gabriel, transposable tenor-bass. B♭2 to D4.
Jason: 10-15, non-binary featured ensemble role.
ANY AGE
Link: represents social media algorithm: can be any gender, age, voice part. Vocal music in treble or bass clef; either A3 to G5 or A2 to G4
Amber Wilde: 17-60, a trans woman movie star, wildly popular. Short alto/tenor singing solo. E♭3 to E♭4
Ensemble: High school students, gym patrons, townspeople, online crowd, ice skating fans, Seeking strong singers and actors who are comfortable with movement/dance. ALL VOCAL PARTS NEEDED.
