Here is what some audience members and some actors had to say about their experience watching or performing Connected.
WOOOOWWWW!!! I've never seen a show like this and I wish everyone could see it. There are themes of love, acceptance, diversity, and finding and believing in your true self - and how the journey to get there is not easy. There will always be obstacles and challenges along the way. This is just the beginning, I know it!
--Gillian from Plukemin, New Jersey
It was an engaging and moving evening, watching Connected. I am still thinking about "Magic Wand" and "What's the Matter;" not sure why they stood out in such a strong field [of music]. Connected should have legs.
--David from Concord, Massachusetts
Great show! Meaningful script; exciting, varied music; excellent direction, acting and singing! Hope you can produce this in other venues going forward! Very important messages for our times.
--Cindy from Lincoln, Massachusetts
I want to commend you on how thoughtful and purposeful you've been with your portrayal of every character. I just LOVED it.
--Kate from Westboro, MA
And just like that, Connected the musical is over. I am Bursting With Pride over the way the show turned out!!! I’m so glad I decided to "Give It A Try" at directing my first musical… This cast was phenomenal and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! What am I to say? Connected… What was I made for? Times like these and a community like DI. Thank you to all of you who made this show possible!
--Mic Godin from Lowell, MA, stage director at Dramatically Incorrect
It is very refreshing to see how you arrange the new technology, thoughts and LGBT topics together to compose a contemporary musical. I could see everyone was passionate about it.
--Zoek from China, after watching a video of the premiere production
What a great story! Now that I've seen this wonderful musical, I’d love for my older child (they/them) to see it. Do you have a venue and a date for the next production?
-- Liz from Harvard, MA
OMGGGGGG!!!! Congratulations, Kathryn! The closing scene of act 1, with the inspirational music interspersed with Abby and Jeremy's showdown was brilliant writing! This one hits me in the feels for several reasons. I used to be married to a Jeremy. Speaking for the Abbys of the world, you nailed the female empowerment, and also how an oppressed person finds strength and self-love.
--Stephanie from Connecticut
The show is timely and moving. I enjoyed it very much, and I hope you can find a Portland theater to take it on! --Cameron from Portland, Oregon
I met the talented playwright and the Connected cast at their Portland reading... highly recommend this...it was an energized evening! --Dianna from Vancouver, Washington
Empowering!
--Jay from Grafton, MA
I'm definitely going to stay connected with Connected!
--Damon from Littleton, MA
The actors were tremendous, and I think we spent all evening talking through how the story builds.
-- James from Stow, MA
Helen's last song had me in tears.
--Pat from Concord, MA
I feel so close to Abby's story.
